After Western Spaghetti and Fresh Guacamole – the short film nominated for the Oscars in 2013 – stop-motion artist Adam Pesapane aka Pes launched his new video Submariner Sandwich.
In an Italian inspired vintage gastronomy, Pes prepares the famous sandwich using sporting goods and other items, transforming them genially. Pesapane spent more than two years browsing ads on eBay, Craiglist and wandering around flea markets to find the scene objects as he had thought in his mind. Some of the scene objects are now on sale on his site.
“It’s hard to explain but I really need things I use to have personality and flair. There is a little bit of a journey for each object that made its way into the film. ” Pesapane says.
It took more than 7 weeks to shoot about 2.600 separate images to create the 1.48-minute stop-motion video. Here the “behind the scene” of the making of Submariner Sandwich.
